Did you know that Kimberly James Bridal offers in-house bridal alterations? Book your wedding dress alterations with Alessandra Felicia, our resident seamstress at Kimberly James Bridal! She works with brides that have purchased gowns at Kimberly James Bridal, as well as brides that have purchased elsewhere & need a seamstress.

Alessandra is originally from the city of Belo Horizonte in Brazil. She has decades of experience with weddings gowns, menswear, and even figure skating costumes! She began her career when she was just 16 years old, having studied patternmaking, sewing, and embroidery. She specializes in gown alterations and veil embroidery. (See one of her custom veils below!) Alessandra is a proud mother of 2 boys, and she moved to Philly from Connecticut. In her free time, Alessandra enjoys the arts, museums, travel, and most especially, music of all types!

Wondering what alterations usually entail? Almost all brides end up needing a hem and a bustle added to their gown. Many brides also need their gown taken in in the waist and/or hips or the bust area altered to perfection so that the bride feels perfectly supported and secure. Alessandra also loves to add custom details that brides request, like removable sleeves and embroidered veils. We typically recommend that brides budget $500-900 for their gown alterations.
